organised in Ireland since 1953.
Pronunciation aid : 'RÁS' is Irish for 'Race'
and is pronounced 'RAW-s'.
The event has been formally known as the 'Ras Tailteann'
and is sometimes referred to abroad
as the 'Rás' or 'Tour of Ireland'.
Since 2001,
the event has been classified by the UCI as 2.5.
