PRESS RELEASE.

CZECH REPUBLIC FOR FBD INSURANCE RÁS

The Czech Republic professional cycle racing team, Elmarco KK Cube Dukla Liberec, is the first of the six pro teams expected to take part in the FBD Insurance RÁS to name its squad for the big 8 day international cycle race, which starts from Dublin on 22nd of next month. The team leader, 29 year old Rostislav Krotky, is an experienced stage race rider who will be backed by some of the Czech Republic’s most promising under 23 riders, including Jan Novak, Jiri Korbel, Ondrej Pavelka and Michal Stasny.

Elmarco has targeted the FBD Insurance RÁS as one they plan to win and will certainly provide formidable opposition to the Mark Scanlon led Irish team.

In addition to the six professional, or Continental, Teams, as they are known since the UCI reform of international cycling, seventeen county teams, French and German regional teams, six American, three British and national teams from Wales and Scotland  will line-up at the GPO for what promises to be an intriguing battle over the 8 days.

Emyvale, Tubbercurry, Lisdoonvarna, Templemore, Abbeyleix, Rathdrum, Wicklow Town and the Phoenix Park on Sunday 29th provide the venues for thrilling stage finishes.
