This
weekend in Dublin, Alain Baniel ( Director Kreiz Breizh Elite ) , Benedict
Larroque ( responsible communication KBE ) met their Irish counterparts in the
An Post Ras represented by its chairman Tony Campbell and his assistant Eddie
Dawson . John Horgan the Irish Cycling Federation ( Cycling Ireland) was also
present in the Irish capital to give birth to Celtic Challenge . This
new event is a first because previously no two races UCI 2.2 were not
associated . In May 2014, six stages of An Post Ras and August 2014, four
stages of Kreizh Breizh Elites allow Irish and Breton professional teams to
compete with Irish and Scottish selections to designate , after a team ranking
, Celtic training year. Alain
Baniel , " I announced at the end of last KBE was my desire to get closer
to the An Post Ras to promote the Celtic culture around cycling . I look
forward to working with Tony Campbell for the Celtic Challenge . KBE has always
been willing to host foreign teams and Brittany is a land of bike. We are happy
to go in this direction. " Tony
Campbell: "I am happy to work with my Breton cousins with
whom we share our Celtic roots . it will be a great test for our riders through
our respective countries. It is a beautiful cetlique agreement. " The

Breizh Elites met in Dublin John Horgan President of Cycling Ireland and Tommy
Campbell and Eddie Dawson respectively president of the organization and
logistics manager of the An Post Rás . The
An Post Ras and KBE, UCI 2.2 race , decided to join forces to create a Celtic
Challenge. In this first edition of the challenge five teams Celtic ( Irish ,
Scottish and Breton ) will compete this challenge by participating in two
races. This
is a team challenge that the first round will be held at the An Post Ras from
18 to 25 May 2014 and the second round at the Kreiz Breizh Elites from 2 to 4
August 2014. |
