The worst week of a big stage race is the week before it starts. Our riders are keen and excited to get to the start line of the An Post Rás in Dublin Castle this Sunday. For each of them the 8 day race will give them every chance to prove their courage, fitness and tenacity as they pit themselves against an International field of professionals and the best amateur riders in Ireland.
Fergus Rooney conquered the Rás Tailteann for the first time last year and aims to improve on his overall position
Ciaran McVeigh won two races in the last fortnight and has just upgraded to A1. The former championship basketball player is enjoying mixing it at the top of his new sport in Phoenix Cycling Club

Jody Wright has enjoyed his best season to date with consistent GC placings in all the stage races this year. He's looking forward to improving his skills and tactics
Karl Morgan is returning for a second consecutive year. Already this season he has shown his stage race ability. During his first Ras last year we witnessed him getting higher stage placings as the week went on
Niall O'Gorman will enjoy his first experience of racing at this level. An excellent climber, Niall will be aiming to test himself in the middle of the week on the most hilly stagesCiaran McVeigh won two races in the last fortnight and has just upgraded to A1.
