2016 An Post Rás Route Promises Great Suspense
Eddie Dunbar, Martyn Irvine & Bryan McCrystal In Dublin Castle At The Photo Shoot For The Launch Of The 2016 An Post Rás


Beginning at Dublin Castle and totalling over 1200 kilometres, the route of the 2016 An Post Rás was unveiled today.

This year’s edition of the race will travel anti-clockwise around Ireland with stage finishes in Multyfarnham, Charleville, Dingle, Sneem, Clonakilty, Dungarvan and Baltinglass before the customary finale in Skerries.

The opening stage from Dublin Castle ensures an historic setting for Ireland’s toughest annual sporting event. As ever, the race will see some of Ireland’s top amateur riders compete against professional riders and seasoned internationals around the world.

An Post Rás Race Director, Tony Campbell has taken measures to ensure that all Irish competitors in this year’s race will be of sufficiently high standard, saying that he has reached an agreement with Cycling Ireland over the matter.

Eddie Dawson Has resigned from the An Post Rás after 47 years.
Eddie has over the years been Team Manager in 1973 When Mike O’Donoghue won the race, Team Driver. Lead Car Accommodation Officer, Financial Controller and Assistant Race Director
for the last number of years. His Resignation took affect from June 2015
